Civil construction is experiencing a new moment

In March, Geraldo Jardim Linhares Júnior, director of Sinduscon-MG, told the Jornal Estado de Minas: “Our intention is not to stopLet’s take care of our workers, taking all precautions and keeping construction going.»

The construction sector is facing difficulties, but with the support of various entities, such as the Municipality of Belo Horizonte itself, we have been able to continue with our services.

In June, PBH released a note clarifying under what conditions the work licenses you could request, all virtually. Indeed, the Municipality has done an exemplary job in adapting to the new normal.

An example of this is the use of drones and video calls to achieve victims of construction. Now, instead of personal inspections, drones fly over the work and capture videos, photos and three-dimensional models of the work businesses. For internal inspections, video calls are carried out with the technical managers of the construction companies, who visit all the environments, following the indications and requests of the inspection inspectors. This occurred in August with the inspection of the Yora building.

There are many changes that, in fact, are destined to last – but in the internal processes of Agmar they are not ANDit could be different!

Our attention on construction sites during the pandemic

Here, our primary concern has been the safety and health of our people.

Therefore, we provide a series of processes and adjustments, such as the distribution of alcohol gel in various points of the construction site (entrance, living areas, warehouses and canteens), supply of disposable caps for visitors’ helmets, e fabric masks for all our employees, who must use them throughout the working day.

But these are just the basics.

We strictly implement the periodic cleaning of PPE, tools and surfaces such as tables, counters and benches, i.e. all common spaces. And to ensure as much distance as possible, we have installed more sinks for employees.

Another important measure was the deactivation of the inclined jets of our fountains, which were replaced with disposable glasses.

Just as important as this is the disinfection that we adopt in all environmentswith the nebulization of a mixture of water and sodium hypochlorite. This way, we ensure that all spaces are properly sterilized.

It is worth remembering that safety here begins before the start of the working day. We use a temperature meter to enter construction sites and the office we have purchased sanitizing mats at all entrances and indicated the safety distancing on benches and floors.

Since crowding is one of the biggest villains, we have started alternating lunch times and establishing a maximum capacity of 4 people in the elevators. We also adopt the working method home office for office staff.

Employees in the risk group were suspended from work and their holidays were brought forward.

Finally, We provide the flu vaccine to all employeesafter all, the more prevention, the better; and we started to develop an awareness program with conferences, posters and field inspections.
